5 weeks ago, I wrote about the 24 Hour short story competition I entered, and linked to the story I had written. Rapidly advised that this could disqualify me, I withdrew it ...

... well, the results are now in and sadly I didn't place. I figure it's okay to publish my entry now:

'The Sins of the Father'

As my first entry into the competition (well, any comp actually), I was pretty satisfied with what I wrote, and still am (although outside the restrictions of the comp, I might give it a little more room, and there's a couple of lines that could do with a tweak). But looking at the winners it's clear that the concept wasn't original enough to stand out - I shall have to try harder come the spring competition on April 25th!
